Festival HighlightsGrand OpeningThe official launching ceremony will take place on Saturday 17 July 2004. The Honourable Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is expected to officiate the event. Glows at Night
When the sun sets, the Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens take on another dimension. The gardens are transformed as the park takes on a different atmosphere altogether with subtle lights glowing amidst the flowers, plants, trees and lakes. The gardens will be open until 10pm daily. There are also be a range of entertainment activities which make for exciting and memorable moments and photo opportunities. Celebration Of Colours
Colourful flowers and plants from the corners of the world will be on display at the Floral Enclave (indoor exhibition zone). Concerts and Performances
Local and international performances will be held daily. They take place at the prepared stage area as well at various locations throughout the gardens during the event. SalesPlants, flower seeds, unique greens, fresh flowers and home gardening products will be available for purchase throughout LAMAN2004. Competitions
Various competitions will take place before and during the Festival. Come see the judging in process or admire the winning entries. School Art CompetitionsSelected schools will take part in a coloring competition with attractive prizes going to winners. Educational ProgrammesVarious educational and environment programmes will be organized for students. Also available will be many other workshops on many garden and landscape matters. Malaysian VillageMalaysian Village is a showcase village highlighting Malaysian gardens, architecture, heritage, food & culture. DIY Pavilion
Landscape products, technology and gardening demonstration sessions will be organized by participating organisations. These events feature presentations by expert horticulturalists and floral designers. The programs are dynamic and interactive with speakers taking questions from the audience on gardening and floral related matters. Misty Walkway
Experience the 2km long walkway along the park with cooling mist descending from the tropical tree canopies. Tram & Buggy Services
Tram and buggy services are available for visitors to explore the various Lake Gardens attractions such as the Hibiscus Garden, Orchid Garden, KL Bird Park, Butterfly Farm. Details are available at the Information Booths. |
