Option B : FRIM Nature Tour (Forest Research Institute of Malaysia)
Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and head off to the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia to rejuvenate your senses. Enjoy the luscious greenery and tackle the challenges posed by the many nature trails in the 600 hectare nature park.
Established in 1929 as a forest reserve for research, the park and its close proximity to the city attracts many tourists for the many varieties of tropical Rainforests and the unique opportunity to watch some of the 181 species of birds, of which 27 are migratory.
The spatial grounds which began as degraded land in the form of sterile mining pools and scrubby wasteland is today a treasure of relatively unpolluted air, cooler temperatures and quiet serenity. Amongst the most exciting challenges at the park is the canopy walkway. Located in the Bukit Lagong Forest, this walkway was constructed in 1992 spanning 150 meters and suspended between trees 30 meters above ground.
Offering a panoramic view of the forest, the walkway also functions as a platform for scientific study of canopy flora and fauna.
